After last month's great news that the Town received the GOCO grant to purchase the property (along with funding and in-kind donations from EVLT, Access Fund and RMC), there is one more step to finalize the Town's decision to purchase and manage the Thumb Open Space. On Tuesday, April 28th the Town Board of Trustees will cast a final vote to accept the GOCO funds and move forward with the transaction to acquire the Thumb Open Space. This is our last chance to weigh in and remind the Board of Trustees that we appreciate their support for the Thumb Open Space and look forward to the next steps (stewardship, management planning, resource inventories, facilitated access, enjoying the Open Space, etc.).
Please submit a comment to the Town by next Tuesday. Use this (FORM) and, once again, voice your support for the Thumb Open Space. Thanks in advance for the team effort to get this project over the goal line.
Lastly, Access Fund will be launching a fundraising campaign soon to recoup the funds Access Fund committed to this acquisition.
